Who We Are
Stronger Than Silence Foundation is established for the public benefit to support survivors and families affected by sexual violence, abuse, exploitation and trauma.
As Jazmine's mother and stepfather, watching her endure what she has been through has been one of the most difficult and heartbreaking experiences of our lives.
When people hear about a crime, they often focus on the incident itself, but they do not always see the lasting impact it has on the victim and those closest to them. As a family, we have witnessed first-hand the emotional, psychological and practical consequences that can follow. The effects do not disappear when a court case ends or when public attention moves elsewhere. They continue to affect daily life, relationships, confidence, wellbeing and a person's sense of safety.
As parents, our role has always been to love, protect and support our children. Seeing someone you care about deeply face trauma and its aftermath is incredibly painful, and there are times when the feelings of helplessness can be overwhelming. The impact extends beyond the individual victim and is often felt throughout the entire family.
Our experience has shown us how vital support, understanding and compassion are, not only for victims but also for the families who stand beside them. Recovery is rarely straightforward, and every journey is different. Families frequently find themselves navigating challenges of their own while trying to provide strength and encouragement for their loved one.
This is one of the reasons we are so passionate about the Stronger Than Silence Foundation. We want to help ensure that victims, survivors and their families know they are not alone. We want to create support, raise awareness and contribute to meaningful change so that others facing similar experiences can access the help, understanding and opportunities they need.
While what happened to Jazmine will always be part of our family's story, it does not define who she is. She is a remarkable girl whose courage, resilience and determination continue to inspire us every day. We are incredibly proud of her.
Through the work of the Stronger Than Silence Foundation, we hope to turn a deeply challenging experience into something positive by supporting others, raising awareness and helping create a future where victims and their families receive the care, respect and support they deserve.
No leniency. No excuses.
A safe, supportive community where every voice is heard and every experience is validated.
Practical support and connection for those whose lives have been changed by someone else's crime.
Campaigning for a judicial system that delivers true equality and justice — without exception.
Where We're Headed
Through practical support, respite opportunities, recovery services, education, awareness raising and advocacy, the Foundation seeks to reduce hardship, improve wellbeing and contribute positively to society.
A world where every survivor is heard, believed and supported — where trauma does not define a person's future, and where communities stand together to break the silence around abuse and violence.
We approach every individual with empathy, dignity and unconditional respect — recognising the courage it takes to seek support.
We believe in the strength within every survivor. Our work is guided by the voices of those we serve, not assumptions about what they need.
We speak up for systemic change, raising awareness and challenging the conditions that allow abuse and trauma to persist.
Healing happens in connection. We build safe spaces where survivors, families and supporters can come together and grow.
How We Help
Providing grants, financial assistance and opportunities for restorative breaks — allowing families and individuals affected by trauma to spend time together in safe, supportive environments away from circumstances associated with their experiences.
Creating safe support networks through both in-person and digital communities where beneficiaries can access peer support, practical guidance and emotional encouragement.
Developing digital platforms, applications and educational resources that provide guidance, wellbeing tools, journaling resources, personal development support and information relevant to recovery and resilience.
Providing educational materials, campaigns, events and public awareness initiatives designed to increase understanding of the impact of crime, abuse and violence on individuals and families.
Undertaking research, consultation and evidence-based campaigning activities intended to improve survivor support services, safeguarding arrangements, public protection measures and outcomes within the criminal justice system.
Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries will be selected based upon need, vulnerability, hardship and alignment with the charitable purposes of the Foundation.
