Stronger Than Silence Foundation
This page is for survivors. For anyone who has experienced sexual violence or abuse and is trying to find a way forward — whether that happened recently or years ago.
The Stronger Than Silence Foundation was built by a family who watched someone they love go through the justice system and come out the other side. We know what it looks like when the system fails survivors. And we know how much the right support — at the right time — can change everything.

Your Feelings Are Valid
There is no right or wrong way to feel after trauma. Whatever you are experiencing, you are not alone in it.
What happened was not your fault. Not in any way, not under any circumstances. Shame belongs to those who caused harm — never to those who survived it.
We believe you. Full stop. Your experience is real and it matters, regardless of what happened in any court, investigation or conversation.
Anger is a completely valid response to injustice. You are allowed to be furious. You are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to feel everything — or nothing at all.
Trauma can make you feel like no one could possibly understand. But you are not alone — and you do not have to carry this by yourself.
Recovery is not a straight line. There is no timeline you are supposed to be following. Healing looks different for everyone, and that is okay.
You do not owe anyone a recovery on their schedule. You are allowed to take as long as you need, and to define what moving forward means for you.
Things We Need You to Hear
What happened to you was not your fault.
You are not defined by what was done to you.
Your feelings — whatever they are — are valid.
You are allowed to take up space and ask for help.
Seeking support is an act of courage, not weakness.
You deserve care, rest, and the chance to heal.
Your voice matters. It always has.
